OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2016. Numerous Ford Motor Company production facilities and vehicle teams were recognized recently for ensuring customers received quality products during the North American President’s Quality Award Program.

The program was developed in 2002 to recognize the outstanding achievements in quality by plants and engineering teams as outlined by company guidelines, J.D. Power numbers and Consumer Reports Recommended Buys.

Joe Hinrichs, president, The Americas, said the progress the company has made in the past several years is apparent, and keeping up the momentum will help cement Ford as the best in the industry.

“What we build and design today lasts for a long time,” he said. “It is not short term. When you think about the progress we have made, let’s not lose sight of how we got here: by analyzing data, acknowledging the facts, not being afraid to talk about what needs to happen and most importantly, by empowering people to make a difference.”

Brett Fox, co-chair, National UAW Quality Council, represented UAW Vice President Jimmy Settles at the event.

“We’d like to recognize all of our plants for their personal commitment to quality,” he said. “Your personal pride in your work is obvious and that’s never taken for granted. The quality you attain is an integral part of the success of the UAW and Ford.”
