Uranium One Group summed up the operating and financial performance of the division companies in 2015
OREANDA-NEWS. Uranium One, an international mining division of Rosatom State Corporation, summed up the operating and financial performance of the division companies in 2015 according to the management reports.
At year-end 2015, the Division’s mining companies fully implemented the year production plan. The total uranium production amounted to 4,794 tons of U3O8.
The Division's revenues in 2015 reached $740 million, which is 37% higher than in 2014. The primary growth was due to the strengthening of commercial activities on the foreign markets, increase in foreign revenues, which reached $243 million. EBITDA increased by 20% against 2014 and amounted to $294 million. Net earnings of the Division at year-end 2015 were $110 million against the net loss of $284 million in 2014.
Labour productivity increased by 40% against 2014 and amounted to $460,000/person due to the revenue growth and business process optimization activities.
In 2015, the cost of sales expressed in US dollars fell from $14/lb to $12/lb of U3O8 as compared to 2014. "Today Uranium One Division holds leadership by the lowest production cost of natural uranium among the world's leading companies”, said Vasily Konstantinov, the President of Uranium One Group. “We have achieved it particularly due to our joint actions on production efficiency improvement, internal costs reduction, and improvement of operating processes at mining projects in Kazakhstan taken together with JSC NAC Kazatomprom. In 2016, we plan to maintain the positive dynamics of growth in the major economic indicators, and will continue to reduce operating costs and increase production efficiency".
