Smartphones share rising on Tele2 network
OREANDA-NEWS. Tele2, an alternative mobile operator, has issued the rating of mobile devices used on the Tele2 network. Over 2015, a share of smartphones gained 11.1 pps and totaled 40.9% of a total number of devices.
The top 5 rating of smartphones is headed by Samsung Galaxy Star Plus, whereas the four places are taken by Apple iPhone 4S/4, Samsung Wave 525 and Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Duos.
Moscow is leaving other regions behind in terms of 4G-supporting devices – the region showed the largest penetration of such devices at 22,4%. The most popular phones on the 4G network are Apple iPhone 5S/5/6, Samsung Galaxy A3 and Lenovo A2010.
A share of tablets surged by 1.4 pps up to 2% over the last year. The most demanded among Tele2 subscribers are Explay, Lenovo и Qumo. They entered the top 5 of most popular tablets and account for 24% of these devices on the operator’s network.
Android has reinforced its standings: its share grew up to 80.7%. iOS-operated systems are ranked 2nd with their share having increased by 0.8 pps up to 7.1%. Smartphones operated by Windows Phone have taken the 3d place (5.2%) leaving Symbian and Bada behind.
One of last year’s main trends was Tele2 subscribers’ growing preference for producers of low-cost devices − Fly, Alcatel, Explay and Lenovo. Besides, Huawei and Keneksi brands are growing in popularity – they are not far from entering the top 15 list of mobile device producers on the Tele2 network.
In 2015, Tele2 has noted an increase in the number of devices supporting NFC – the technology that allows transmitting data at small distances. A share of such devices increased 1.8 pps and totaled 4.8% of an overall number of devices on the Tele2 network. Such phones are most actively used in Moscow (14.9%), Norilsk (13.7%) and Salekhard (9.7%).
