GAZ Group Supplies Ural Vehicles for Power of Siberia
OREANDA-NEWS. Ural automobile plant of GAZ Group, a part of Basic Element, Russia's largest diversified industrial holding, supplied 33 vehicles to Stroygaz company. Ural vehicles that include pipe trucks, truck buses and the company's new product - Ural Next will be used during the construction of the Power of Siberia pipeline.
Ural automobile plan supplied 33 vehicles - truck buses for work teams transportation, pipe trucks and drop-side trucks - to Stroytransgaz company.The pipeline construction will also involve using 6x6 Ural Next truck buses. All vehicles are powered by YMZ-53622-1 240 hp engines produced by Yaroslavl Avtodiesel engine plan.
The vehicles will be deployed in construction of one of Gazprom's major projects - the Power of Siberia pipeline that will stretch for 4 thousand kilometers to supply natural gas from Yakutsk and Irkutsk fields to the Far East of Russia and China. CJSC Stroytransgaz acts as the prime contractor for Chayandinsk field infrastructure construction.
All shipped Ural vehicles were outfitted with the "northern" option package ensuring comfortable working conditions in harsh climate. The vehicles will be operated in the vicinity of the city of Lensk, the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
The customary off-road capabilities of Ural vehicles will ensure that Stroytransgaz personnel are able to carry out construction activities in hard-to-reach areas. Ural vehicles have demonstrated excellent performance when operating in challenging environment of Siberia and the Far North. The cooperation between Ural automobile plant and Stroytransgaz company dates back three years. Over that period Ural delivered around 20 vehicles, including truck buses, pipe trucks and dump trucks.
Thanks to their unique off-road capabilities Ural vehicles produced by GAZ Group are used a variety of applications while implementing projects of strategic importance in different sectors of the economy of Russia. The Ural chassis is used as a basis for installing various types of specialty equipment, most of which are intended for oil producing industry. These include cranes and drilling rigs, well servicing rigs, well dewaxing units, concrete mixers, refueling trucks, fire tank trucks, mobile workshops and others.
