OREANDA-NEWS. Zaporizhzhya Titanium and Magnesium Combine, (part of Group DF titanium business), increased the production of primary products - titanium sponge to 7% from 7.2 to 7.7 tons in 2015. Most part of the produced titanium sponge (74.52%) was composed by the products of the higher grades (TG-90 type, 100, 110 and 120), which are widely used by the worldwide industrial customers in the industries such as aerospace engineering, medicine, shipbuilding, instrument engineering.

"In 2015, the business plan for the production of titanium sponge is fulfilled. Despite the bad conditions in the world titanium market, the company continued to invest in fixed assets. This is done in order to meet the stringent requirements of the global consumers of titanium products. Definitely, the highlight of the year was the fact that the plant has passed the quality management system certification audit according to the so-called 'aerospace standard' - EN 9100:2009, which will allow ZTMC selling its products to the world's largest consumers in the future, the Director of ZTMC Vladimir Sivak said. - Then we moved to the realization of the next stage of the Program on the entering the new markets - we are passing a special certification from the individual manufacturers. For example, we have begun the certification at one of the largest Chinese customers, because we believe China is a very promising market for us".

Thanks to the modernization of one of the three ore-thermal furnaces, the combine managed to reduce the production volume of the production of the lower redistribution - commercial titanium slag in 2015 (from 32.6 to 27.1 K tons.).

In 2015, the company continued conducting the modernization program, reconstruction and renovation of fixed assets, made overhauls in key shops. During the year, the volume of financing of works on reconstruction amounted almost UAH 67 million. The works on the technical modernization of production were directed on the design of the new and reconstruction of the existing production facilities, testing new technological processes.

The plant has allocated over UAH 35 million to the major repairs in 2015. The repairs were directed to improving the reliability, efficiency, equipment performance and production safety at the enterprise.
