OREANDA-NEWS. Group DF group of companies has invested USD 115.7 million in the project of Motronovsk Mining and Concentration Complex. In the basis of the project is the construction of the quarry for ore extraction on the site of Motronovsk-Annovsk area of the Malyshevsk deposit of zircon-rutile-ilmenite sands, as well as the processing complex for the production of zirconium, rutile and ilmenite concentrates.

"Over USD 115.7 million has already been invested to the project. Currently the stage of the project is being realized, during which the quarry with the capacity of 2.7 million m3 of ore per year will be built. According to the business plan, the start of the output is planned for the fourth quarter of 2017. We need another $186.7 million for 4-5 years to complete the construction of mining and processing plant as a whole. We become one of the largest investors in the Dnipropetrovsk region", the director of Motronovsk MCC Alexandr Laznikov said".

According to the project, the company will be able to produce about 120 thousand tons of ilmenite concentrate annually, 14 tons of zircon, 20 tons of rutile.

The company employs 838 people. 9 contractors are involved in the construction, where about 250-300 people are provided with work places. Due the implementation of the project, about 1500 new jobs will be created for 2 years in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The construction of Motronovsk MCC was started in 2014, and is carried out in line with the projects executed by the Vattenfall Europa Mining AG (Germany) company and by the Gorhimprom Institute (Lviv, Ukraine).

The experts from the leading companies of the industry, such as  HATCH (Canada) and Mineral Technologies (Australia) took part in the development of the optimal mineral sands processing technology.

Motronovsk MCC is part of Group DF  titanium business, and owns a special permit for mining zircon-rutile-ilmenite sands on Motronovsk-Annovsk area at Malyshevsk deposits in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
