OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2016. Prime Minister exchanged opinions with members of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the European Parliament. He approached the priorities and actions taken by the Moldovan government for implementing the reform agenda through the Association Agreement with the EU.

In this context, the premier assured the commission’s members that the government’s absolute priority was implementation of the Association Agreement and reforms meant to support citizens.

“This government is determined to implement the democratic reforms meant to bring positive changes in citizens’ life. Implementation of the Association Agreement and free Trade area is cornerstone of the agenda for reforming the country and strengthening its institutions”, Filip said.

Also, the premier said that the new parliamentary majority from Chisinau was the one made up around the European integration goal, and the majority had the capacity and political will necessary to enforce the reforms in front of citizens and foreign partners of Moldova.

The premier also pointed out the efforts made by the government in ensuring the political stability, opening a constructive dialogue with civil society, strengthening relations with ethnic minorities, as well as in promoting reforms meant to respond to the consolidation of independence of the state institutions.

In conclusion, the premier expressed his vision on the evolution of the EU-Moldova relations. “EU’s support is determined for success of our efforts of reformation. Political association and economic integration with EU is the fundamental goal of our relations. Trust is not offered but is gaining, this is my personal credo”, he said.

The premier also met the head of the European Parliament Delegation to the EU-Moldova Association Parliamentary Committee, Andi Cristea. The officials reviewed the level of implementation of the roadmap and joint efforts made by the Moldovan government and parliament in adopting important laws.
