OREANDA-NEWS. Metinvest Group’s Ingulets GOK has supplied a 20,000-tonne pilot batch of concentrate with 68% iron content to ArcelorMittal Poland S.A. The new product was shipped on 10 March.

Given the declining demand for iron ore materials, the modern market economy places new requirements for the quality of products. With this trend in mind, Ingulets GOK worked extensively to increase the iron content in the concentrate. In January-February 2016, the company undertook some industrial tests to determine the best ways to operate mining transportation complex and processing segment of the company. They developed the equipment operating modes and technology to make high-quality products.

The Ingulets GOK facilities can manufacture products with iron content at more than 68%.

Aleksandr Gerasimchuk, acting CEO of Ingulets Ore Mining and Processing Plant:

The ore mining sector is facing difficult times, so it is important to ensure stable production of premium-quality goods. In February, we delivered concentrate samples with iron content at 68%, 68.5% and 69% to Japan, Bahrain and Poland to assess their metallurgical value. In March, we are preparing a sample for Slovakia. Efficient work of Ingulets GOK team resulted in the first contract for delivery of new products to ArcelorMittal Poland S.A.”
