OREANDA-NEWS. Sales of passenger cars in Europe in February increased by 14% to 1 million 092 thousand 825 vehicles. As the representatives of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) noted, a positive trend, which is fixed 30 months in a row, remains stable that permit to count on a further increase in demand in the short term. Sales growth was recorded in most EU countries, including all the largest car markets in Europe - from 8.4% in the UK to 27.3% in Italy. At the end of the first two months of 2016 the sales of cars in Europe was 2,186, 605 units – more by 10.1% than a year before.

As it was noted in the review of the European car market for February, among manufacturers the highest number of cars in the European Union in the last month was sold by Volkswagen - 125,058 vehicles (+ 4.6%). The second place went to Renault with indicator of 77005 of sold cars (+ 10.6%). On the third place there is Ford, which sold 73,440 cars - more by 19.2% than the year before. The top-five of leaders is closed by Peugeot (71131 units, + 14.1%) and Opel / Vauxhall (71122 units, + 18.3%).
