Deutsche Telekom: making security easy indeed
"Our customers want easy solutions. Together with Zscaler, we are freeing them from complexity and relieving them of the need to make expensive investments in their own infrastructure. The Internet Protect Pro system we are offering business customers is complete protection – for both company headquarters and branch locations," explained Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, Director of T-Systems' IT Division and Telekom Security, at a press conference.
Internet Protect Pro is one of the first solutions to emerge from Telekom Security, a new unit that Deutsche Telekom is planning to establish and in which it plans to consolidate all of the Group's security areas. "The central idea behind Telekom Security is that we need to make security easy, i.e. easy to use and easy to understand," Abolhassan explained.
"Deutsche Telekom has been on the forefront of enabling cloud transformation at businesses,” said Jay Chaudhry, CEO of Zscaler. “This partnership will further extend that lead by bringing Zscaler’s extensive cloud security platform to provide Deutsche Telecom’s customers with comprehensive security, visibility and control in an easy to configure and deploy solution.”
Internet Protect Pro: the cyber shield from the network
The new solution is reasonably priced, and it can be expanded as needed to include additional services. What is more, it is available worldwide. Internet Protect Pro shifts the functions of firewalls, intrusion protection systems and proxy servers, as well of systems that protect against viruses and unknown malware, into the Deutsche Telekom Cloud. As a result, companies require less local hardware of their own, and they are freed of the IT administration and configuration required in connection with new types of attacks from cyberspace.
Internet Protect Pro protects against all sorts of cyber threats and data leaks, and it can block malware execution, cyber attacks and data theft in real time. In addition, it tests and analyzes suspicious files in a completely isolated environment ("sandboxing"). This enables it to protect against new and unknown types of malware. Deutsche Telekom operates the Zscaler solution in its highly secure data center in Biere. There it ensures that customer and company data cannot leave Germany by any unauthorized routes.
The new solution is aimed at all companies of all sizes, from SMEs to large corporations. In the 2nd quarter of 2016, it will become available to companies for a free test phase. As of summer 2016, the solution will be a regular part of the new Magenta Security portfolio, and it will become available, also for small business customers.
