OREANDA-NEWS. Nicolas Moore was appointed the president of AvtoVAZ. The decision shall enter into force on 4 April 2016, when Bo Inge Andersson stops the execution of his duties, informed the press service of AVTOVAZ.

Currently, 55-year-old Nicolas Moore is the general director of Renault in Romania, where he manages all commercial and industrial activities of the company. At the same time he holds the position of President - General Director of the company Automobile Dacia SA, the manufacturer of one of the fastest growing automotive brands in Europe and the largest private company in Romania.

Before the position of president of Renault in Romania, Mr. Moore served as vice president for production efficiency and vice-president of the purchasing organization of Renault-Nissan Alliance by powertrains. He headed the units that were responsible for production, purchasing, quality and after-sales service. Before joining the Renault team in 2000, Mr. Moore has worked in the production of automotive parts, such as Faurecia and Valeo.

"Over the last 7 years there were major changes at AVTOVAZ, due to which the quality of the vehicles increased greatly, there were developed and produced new models, increased production efficiency”, - said Sergey Chemezov, General Director of the State Corporation "Rostech", which also owns the shares of the joint venture Alliance Rostec Auto BV. - Our goal today - is to create a highly competitive product, increase market share, as well as to provide an effective process for loading of Russian production with component base. AVTOVAZ in this regard is the impetus for the development of hundreds of other companies in the country. All these tasks will face the new leader. We expect that he will cope with them."

Previous head of AvtoVAZ Bo Inge Andersson joined the company three years ago, in 2013. He continued to work on the restructuring of AvtoVAZ, focused on the processes of modernization, the launching of new products and technology exchange with partners.

Renault-Nissan Alliance has a controlling interest in Alliance Rostec Auto BV, a holding company, which controls AvtoVAZ. Renault, Nissan and LADA, brand that is owned by AvtoVAZ, produce jointly cars in Togliatti and other plants in the territory of Russia.
