Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO and COO for EMEA met today with Italian trade unions FIM, UILM, FISMIC, UGLM and AQCF
OREANDA-NEWS. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO, Sergio Marchionne, and COO for EMEA, Alfredo Altavilla, met today with Italian trade unions FIM, UILM, FISMIC, UGLM and AQCF.
The meeting included a presentation of FCA's 2015 financial results and the update to the 5-year Business Plan.
It was a particularly positive year for the Group, with all 2015 targets achieved and exceeded. The EMEA region reached break-even one year ahead of plan. This was due in large part to launch of the Jeep Renegade (the first Jeep model to be produced outside of the Americas) and the Fiat 500X, both produced at Melfi, and the new Ducato, produced at Atessa. With the recent production launch of the Maserati brand's first ever SUV, the Levante. at Mirafiori and production of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia at the Cassino plant, the Group is moving ahead with the repositioning of its manufacturing activities in Italy toward higher value market segments, as set out in the Business Plan.
The Business Plan was updated to address changes in market conditions in countries such as China and Brazil, with no negative impact on financial targets. In fact, the previous targets were not only confirmed but revised upward. The return to work of all plant employees in Italy was also confirmed.
