OREANDA-NEWS. Gazpromneft Aero, operator of the Gazprom Neft aviation fuels business, has seen retail sales of aviation fuels at Sheremetyevo Airport, Moscow, increase by 29-percent year-on-year, to more than 750,000 tonnes — the result of greater supplies for flights operated by Aeroflot, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, Air China and airBaltic, as well as the start of operations with a new partner, Royal Flight. Gazpromneft Aero is now supplying the aircraft of 22 carriers, nine of which are international.

A dedicated alternative refuelling complex for operations at Sheremetyevo was built by Gazpromneft Aero in 2012 — currently the most cutting-edge and high-technology complex in Russia, awarded the International Aviation Transport Association’s (IATA’s) highest quality rating for aviation refuelling facilities in 2013.

Gazpromneft Aero CEO Vladimir Egorov commented: “Gazpromneft Aero’s services at Sheremetyevo are already being used by many Russian and international carriers. We are committed to further extending our range of clients at Russia’s biggest airport, guaranteeing high-quality fuels and attracting further carriers in working with us. Our operations have traditionally been driven by both Russian and international standards, and by implementing international industry best practice. We expect to see a further increase in refuelling volumes at Sheremetyevo in 2016.”

Gazpromneft Aero is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft. The company has been involved in aircraft refuelling and the “wing-tip” supply of aviation fuels since 1st January 2008. Gazpromneft Aero has been an aviation-fuel strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since December 2008. The company leads the Russian aviation fuels market in terms of retail sales volumes. The company’s operational activities are fully compliant with the highest safety standards in fuelling operations — “Green”. The company provides aviation refuelling services at more than 200 airports throughout 60 countries.

The Gazpromneft Aero alternative refuelling facility is part of a wider refuelling complex at Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow. All equipment and technology at the facility is fully automated. Storage facilities include four reservoirs, with a total capacity of approximately 18,000 square metres, a Perrone refuelling point with a 300-metre-per-hour flow-rate, and more than 20 tankers. The facility also includes a laboratory, fitted with the latest equipment, allowing the physical and chemical properties of fuels to be determined according to Russian (GOST) and international (ASTM) standards. All technology and equipment at the facility is fully automated, and the complex equipped with a unique water treatment system. Purification levels are 6 mg per litre vis-?-vis mechanical contamination, and 1 mg per litre in respect of oil products: sufficient to meet the standards required for fisheries.
