OREANDA-NEWS. The company Gestamp on March 10th opened its fourth plant in Russia - "Edscha Togliatti", which will supply hinges, hinges for the tailgate, boot lid and bonnet. The new company, which locates in the special economic zone "Toglyatti", was the first plant of the company Edscha (since 2010 it is a part of Gestamp Group) in Russia.

This year, about 50 employees have started the assembly and production of door hinges, hinges for the tailgate, the boot lid and bonnet for the Russian market. The expected total production in 2016 – is about 2.5 million hinges. In the medium term, "Edsha Togliatti" plans to hire more than 150 employees. The plant area is 5000 sq.m. Additional area, which is equal to almost 6,000 sq.m., is available for future expansion.

Gestamp began to work in Russia in 2008, and today, including "Edscha Togliatti", the company has 4 plants in the country, which employed more than 650 people. In 2014, Russia became the 11th by market volume of Gestamp.
