OREANDA-NEWS. AvtoVAZ began the production of ultra low-cost version of the car LADA Priora. The agency "Tass" was informed by the press-center of the company, by adding that the first cars have already arrived to dealers.

«LADA Priora in the new version "Standard "- is the company's response to changes in the automotive market. The most affordable Priora is designed for customers who need a reliable car with a basic set of options", - noted in the press center.

New equipment of car with the price of 389,000 rubles includes driver's airbag, the Isofix mounting of child seats, daytime running lights, ABS, 13-inch wheels. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter 8-valve engine with a capacity of 87 hp and 5-speed manual gearbox with cable-operated drive.

Recall, last autumn in some of media reports it was announced about plans of AVTOVAZ to stop the production of LADA Priora in December of 2015 and the absence of the model in the production plan for 2016. Later, AvtoVAZ said that the production of LADA Priora cars will be saved, but the model will be transferred to ultra low-cost segment.

As "AUTOSTAT" reported previously, according to the results of the first two months of 2016 sales of LADA Priora in the Russian market fell by 37.6% to 2,948 vehicles. In January-February Russian dealers of LADA have sold 34 612 cars, which is less by 16% than in the same period of the last year.
