OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2016. At Cebit 2016, Deutsche Telekom plans to introduce Cloud VPN, a new solution with which companies can easily, securely and reliably interconnect their locations and enable them to exchange data securely. All Cloud VPN data communications are encrypted, and they are transmitted via tunneled Internet connections. Cloud VPN can be set up at any Internet access; a special router is used to set up VPN tunnels and transmit data securely via the company network. Cloud VPN has been developed in close partnership with Cisco, GIP Exyr and ScanPlus.

Route and prioritize data streams as necessary
With its automated configuration processes and smart traffic data management, Cloud VPN is fast and easy to set up. Companies control and administrate their Cloud VPN via a user-friendly self-service app that makes it simple to adjust a network to specific requirements and to quickly bring new locations into the system. The self-service app also supports data traffic management. It thus makes it easy to prioritize business-critical applications and to block undesirable data streams such as peer-to-peer or social network traffic.

Employees can use the network for mobile access to company data. Via a special software client, they access the network via secure VPN tunnels (Cloud VPN Remote Access). Companies can always adjust their numbers of such mobile accesses, as well as their numbers of integrated VPN locations, in keeping with their specific requirements.

Security and protection are included
Companies do not require any special expertise, in areas such as IP-VPN, encryption, router configuration and other technical details, in order to be able use the full range of Cloud VPN's security and management functions. Significantly, all (= 100%) data-center services, including data storage, are provided in certified German data centers.

Using Cloud VPN
Cloud VPN is available for any company location. Prices are calculated per access and month. Additional charges result in that a VPN router must be purchased for each location. The package includes IP-VPN with cloud topology, a central Internet breakout, a 24x7 service desk and self-service administration with Visual Quality of Service (QoS), which offers additional functions for visualizing traffic streams, categorizing applications and reserving bandwidth.

Combinations with additional services
Visual QoS also supports efficient prioritization of additional managed IT services, from Deutsche Telekom, that can be combined with Cloud VPN and used to expand Cloud VPN. These include Dynamic Firewall, Managed Mail, Managed SafeSync and Managed Security Services, a professional network protection service for SMEs.
