Implementation of new leadership structure for Eurex trading and clearing business
OREANDA-NEWS. Thomas Book, Managing Director at Deutsche Börse Group, has been appointed CEO of the Eurex Frankfurt AG and Eurex Zürich AG as part of his new role as Head of Derivatives Markets Trading for Deutsche Börse Group. Michael Peters was appointed new Deputy CEO of Eurex Frankfurt AG and has been a member of this Executive Board since 2006.
As of 1 July 2016, Erik Müller, Managing Director at Deutsche Börse Group responsible for Group Strategy and M&A, Treasury and IR, will take over as CEO of Eurex Clearing AG. Effective 7 March, Heike Eckert has been appointed new Deputy CEO of Eurex Clearing AG; she has been serving as COO since April 2013.
Since January 2016, Eurex trading and clearing has been part of the newly created “Clients, Products & Core Markets” division headed by Jeffrey Tessler, member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse AG. Andreas Preuss, formerly responsible for the Eurex segment, is now in charge of the newly created division “IT & Operations, Data & New Asset Classes”. Preuss is deputy CEO of Deutsche Börse AG.
These changes are part of the realignment of responsibilities within Deutsche Börse Group’s Executive Board, effective since 1 January 2016, which place client focus at the heart of the organizational structure, accelerate process flows and simplify them.
CV Thomas Book:
Thomas Book was CEO of Eurex Clearing AG from April 2013. He was a member of the Executive Boards of Eurex Frankfurt AG and Eurex Zürich AG from December 2006 until June 2014.
Since joining Deutsche Börse Group in October 1995, Mr. Book has held a number of different leadership and project management positions at Deutsche Börse and Eurex. From October 2004 until November 2006 he was in charge of market development for the cash and derivatives markets as well as for strategic projects. In addition, he became a Member of the Management Board of Eurex Deutschland in May 2007.
Thomas Book received a diploma in Business Administration at the University of Münster in 1995. He completed a Ph.D. thesis on “Electronic stock exchange trading and global markets” at Justus-Liebig University of Giessen in 2000 which was awarded the first prize of the Paul Julius Reuter Innovation Award in 2003. Since April 2011, Thomas Book has been a member of the ESMA Securities and Markets Stakeholder Group which advises the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA).
CV Erik Müller:
Erik Müller has been a member of the Executive Board of Eurex Clearing AG since April 2013, responsible for Treasury.
As Managing Director, he is responsible for Corporate Strategy and M&A at Deutsche Börse Group since 1 January 2013. Since the IPO of Deutsche Börse in 2001, Erik Tim Müller has been a manager of the Deutsche Börse Group, and he has been responsible for Group Treasury including all treasury activities of the two bank licensed businesses of Deutsche Börse Group, Eurex Clearing in Frankfurt and Clearstream in Luxembourg, as well as for Investor Relations since 2008. He was a member of the Supervisory Board of Eurex Clearing AG from October 2010 until March 2013. He joined Deutsche Börse in 1997 and holds a dual MBA degree from Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany and the Fuqua Business School in North Carolina, USA.
