Kaluga plant Volkswagen has produced the one millionth vehicle
OREANDA-NEWS. The conveyor of Kaluga plant Volkswagen Group Rus produced on February 26th the one millionth vehicle since the opening of the company in November of 2007. The anniversary car was a sedan Volkswagen Polo in a special version Allstar with exclusive orange Copper Orange, equipped with a gasoline engine of the Kaluga production with a capacity of 1.6 liters and 110 hp.
"1 million cars that left down the assembly line of plant in Kaluga – is the evidence of the successful development of the company and the long-term strategy of Volkswagen Group in the Russian market. Kaluga plant of Volkswagen Group Rus was opened in 2007, and in October of 2009 on the site has it was launched the production by a full cycle. At present time, the company produces cars Volkswagen Polo, Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Rapid. During the time of work in Russia, Volkswagen Group Rus Company signed contracts with 60 local suppliers that supply about 5500 kinds of automotive components: stamped parts, instrument panel, battery, engine components, and more.
