OREANDA-NEWS. According to the agency “Auto-Dealer-SPb", in January of 2016 the St. Petersburg car manufacturers Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota have produced 10,600 passenger cars, which is less by 46% compared to the last year.

Last time the lower result for the same month was recorded five years ago - in January of 2011. Then plant Hyundai has just opened the production, which has become the fourth car plant in the city. It was the moment when it began a rapid growth of St. Petersburg, which lasted three years.

Last month, the assembly line of Hyundai plant was launched only on January 22nd. Prior to this, the company was engaged in readjustment of the equipment for the new model of Creta. The other two plants - Toyota and Nissan - just came out after the Christmas holidays.

Share of the St. Petersburg automobile industry in compare with the all-Russian volume of production was 21.7% in January (in January of 2015 - 22.7%). In January, the car plants of St. Petersburg produced seven car models - Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Solaris and KIA Rio. By the results of the month, four of them are in the top-20 of the most popular cars in Russia (Solaris, Rio, Camry and Qashqai).
