Cheniere to send first US LNG cargo to Brazil
OREANDA-NEWS. The first US cargo of domestically produced LNG will depart from Cheniere Energy's Sabine Pass facility later today and make its way to Brazil, Meg Gentle, president of marketing for Cheniere said at the IHS CeraWeek conference in Houston.
It will be the first LNG export from the lower 48 US states to happen since the domestic shale gas boom. Sabine Pass will come on line about two years before any other project.
The first cargo was originally expected to be loaded in January but this was delayed because of instrumentation issues.
