OREANDA-NEWS. The company Bridgestone will open its first in Russia and the CIS countries plant in Ulyanovsk Region in May. The agency "TASS" was informed by the governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Sergey Morozov.

Earlier the Corporation of Development of the Ulyanovsk Region reported that 12.5 billion rubles will be invested in the project. At full capacity, in 2019, the plant will produce 2 million tires per year, and in case of orders it may increase the production twice - up to 4 million tires.

The plant will be built jointly with Mitsubishi Corporation. The plant will create about 800 jobs for area residents. Now it is being completed the equipment installation and commissioning, then it will be formalized all necessary documentation.

As previously "AUTOSTAT" reported, in April of 2014, Bridgestone Company has started the construction of its first plant in Russia for production of radial tires for passenger cars, which will be located in the industrial zone "Zavolzhye" in the Ulyanovsk region. "The whole range of "Bridgestone” tires will be produced at our enterprise for passenger cars. Given the specificity of the climatic conditions in Russia, we will pay special attention on the production of winter tires", - said earlier the CEO "Bridgestone Tire MANUFACTURING CIS", Hiromi Tanigawa.

Construction of the "Bridgestone" plant is carried out on the basis of the investment agreement between the "Bridgestone Corporation", "Mitsubishi Corporation", the Government of the Ulyanovsk region and JSC "Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation" as of April 12th, 2013. "Bridgestone Corporation" will own 90% of the capital of the new company, and the share of "Mitsubishi Corporation" will be 10%. The new plant will be managed by the company, which was established jointly with "Bridgestone Corporation" and "Mitsubishi Corporation" - LLC "Bridgestone Tire MANUFACTURING CIS" ("BMCIS").
