The BB&T Small Business and Middle Market banking groups have won 18 Greenwich Excellence Awards from Greenwich Associates, a leading global financial services research and consulting firm. The 18 awards include 16 in national categories and two regional awards. Since 2009, BB&T has earned 143 Greenwich Excellence Awards, more than any other bank with assets over \\$50 billion. The awards are based on interviews with more than 16,000 U.S. small businesses and nearly 13,000 middle-market companies. Of more than 600 banks evaluated, only 34 received Greenwich Excellence Awards in small business and 31 in the middle market.

Among the 18 awards, BB&T received honors in "overall satisfaction" for small business and middle-market companies in the national category.

Greenwich Excellence Awards are determined by banks' performance in Greenwich Associates' annual U.S. Small Business and Middle Market Banking Research Study, in which decision makers from small businesses with \\$1-10 million in annual sales and middle-market businesses with \\$10 to \\$500 million in annual sales name the banks they use and rate them in more than 10 banking and treasury management categories. Recognition is based on statistical differentiation at a 95-percent confidence level.
