Tigerair upgrades to Rockwell Collins’ latest Iridium SATCOM system on 34 A320 aircraft
OREANDA-NEWS. February 23, 2016. Rockwell Collins today announced that Singapore-based Tigerair will be upgrading 34 Airbus A320 aircraft (21 firm orders and 13 optional) with the latest version of its Iridium satellite communications (SATCOM) system. Deliveries will begin later this year.
The Rockwell Collins Iridium SATCOM system provides flight crews with reliable long-range voice and data communications over the global Iridium satellite network and supports both the Future Air Navigation System (FANS) and Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS).
