OREANDA-NEWS. Eleven new exchange-listed SPDR bond index funds issued by State Street Global Advisors have been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Thursday, 18 February.

The new SPDR ETFs enable investors to participate in the performance of euro-zone and US government bonds with differing residual maturities. The reference indices exclusively comprise fixed-income bonds with an investment grade rating.

The euro-zone government bonds are bonds with a medium residual maturity of 5-7 years or 7-10 years, as well as bonds with a long residual maturity of more than 10 years.

Among the US Treasury bonds offered are those with a residual maturity of 3-5 years, 5-7 years, 7-10 years and of more than 10 years.

This enables investors to react flexibly to interest rate expectations within the different maturity bands.

Additional ETFs that track the performance of corporate bonds denominated in euros and US dollars are also on offer to investors. The individual reference indices comprise fixed-income bonds with investment grade ratings and medium to long residual maturities.

The product offering in Deutsche Börse's XTF segment currently comprises a total of 1,134 exchange traded funds. This selection, together with an average monthly trading volume of around €16 billion, makes Xetra Europe’s leading trading venue for ETFs.
