OREANDA-NEWS. For the third year in a row, Kaspersky Lab has claimed the leading spot in the TOP3 metric for Internet security, proving that its products offer the best protection from cyber threats in the industry. Kaspersky Lab products scored more top-three placements than any other vendor in comprehensive independent testing throughout 2015.  

The annual TOP3 rating, devised by Kaspersky Lab, assesses the performance of over 100 vendors that took part in a variety of IT security tests for corporate, consumer and mobile products during the course of the year. Only tests from recognized and independent labs, such as AV-Comparatives, AV-TEST, Dennis Technology Labs, MRG Effitas and others were considered. The tests that were performed in these programs assess all protection technologies against known, unknown and advanced threats.

In Kaspersky Lab’s TOP3 metric, each vendor is assigned a score based on the number of top three places and awards it  has received relative to the number of tests in which it has participated. Kaspersky Lab products participated in 94 independent tests throughout 2015, achieving first place in 60 of the tests, resulting in the best outcome of all of the vendors who were tested. Kaspersky Lab products also achieved a higher percentage of top-three placements than any other vendor – 82 percent.

The security vendors in the TOP3 measurements include Avast, AVG, Avira, Bitdefender, BullGuard, ESET, F-Secure, G DATA, Intel Security (McAfee), Microsoft, Panda, Sophos, Symantec, and Trend Micro. The tests included in the TOP3 score assessed each solutions’ performance relating to malware detection and removal, mobile security, anti-phishing and parental control, among others.
