OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 February 2016, Carrefour's franchise partner, the Majid Al Futtaim Group, opened the first Carrefour Hypermarket in Kazakhstan, in the city of Almaty, the country's economic capital.

The “Grand Park” Carrefour Hypermarket has a sales area of 8000 m2, located in a huge shopping mall counting 400 shops and 1200 parking lots.

The Majid Al Futtaim Group currently runs 162 stores – 71 Carrefour hypermarkets, 84 Carrefour Markets and 7 Carrefour City stores in 15 different countries.
