RWE Effizienz and Uniper to partner in e-mobility

Partnering to promote e-mobility
The two companies intend to pool their product lines. RWE Effizienz’s charge solutions encompassing proven billing systems and a number of different networking options will be supplemented by Leviamp, an innovative charge station developed and marketed by Easycharge.me, a startup that belongs to Uniper. Thanks to its compact, ceiling-mounted design, Leviamp is easy to install in all types of parking complexes. The partnership will benefit from Uniper’s broad customer base, which includes municipal utilities, regional energy suppliers, and industrial customers. Combining the partners’ offerings will create a broad product range tailored to these customers’ special needs.
At the E-world fair the partnership already signed up its first customer, Stadtwerke Neum?nster, a municipal utility in northern Germany: “RWE Effizienz’s range of charging solutions along with Easycharge.me’s ceiling-mounted charge station, which is perfect for underground parking facilities, will give us the tools we need to launch our second generation of charge network in Neum?nster,” the utility’s Managing Director Matthias Trunk announced.
“We support municipal and regional utilities in offering modern e-mobility services,” Dr. Dietrich Gemmel, Managing Director of RWE Effizienz, said. Ulrich Danco, responsible for Uniper’s sales unit to large customers added that “by pooling the capabilities and charge solutions of two strong partners we’re creating a much broader product line from which our utility and industrial customers can choose the solutions that are right for them.”
Supporting the transition to a low-carbon future
When the partnership’s public charge stations are powered by green electricity, the electric vehicles that use them become an emission-free, climate-friendly form of transportation. The expansion of e-mobility is therefore a key facet of Germany’s transition to a low-carbon future. RWE Effizienz and Uniper intend for their partnership to help promote this expansion, thereby enabling e-mobility to take an important step forward.
RWE Effizienz will market the partnership’s e-mobility products and services under its own name; Uniper will do so through its Easycharge.me brand. “I’m pleased that Uniper’s partnership with RWE Effizienz will create attractive development opportunities for Easycharge.me,” Easycharge.me CEO Artur Sychov said.
