OREANDA-NEWS. An Alstom-Bombardier consortium has won a contract to supply ERTMS[1] signalling systems and 20 years of maintenance services for a 56 km long suburban line linking L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Mataro in the area of Barcelona, Spain.

The project, awarded by Spain’s Administrator of Railway Infrastructure (ADIF) has a total value of €72.7 million ($xx million US).Alstom’s share is valued at €38.5 million ($xx million US) while Bombardier’s share is €34.2 million ($xx million US)[2].

The Alstom-led consortium will deliver the design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of the signalling communication systems. Alstom will implement its proven, radio-based Atlas 200 ERTMS Level 2 solution for the entire line. Bombardier is responsible for the electronic interlocking system with its BOMBARDIER* EBI* Lock 950 computer-based solution.
