Thermo Fisher Scientific Acquires X-Ray Diffraction Provider INEL to Expand Capabilities in Materials Science and Structural Characterization
OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2016. Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, today announced that it has acquired INEL Inc., a provider of real-time X-ray diffraction (XRD) systems based in Artenay, France. The business will be integrated into Thermo Fisher’s Analytical Instruments Segment.
“INEL offers a range of XRD instruments, from simple benchtop instruments for routine applications to sophisticated platforms for analysis of nano-materials, pharmaceuticals, coatings and other advanced materials,” said Michael Shafer, president, chemical analysis, Thermo Fisher. “These technologies complement our existing portfolio and provide our customers with a broad offering for a range of materials science applications – from industrial to research.”
