Professional development focus maintains Bentley's status as top employer
Bentley was awarded for its commitment and dedication to the personal development of its 4,000 colleagues working at the Crewe headquarters. Employee conditions, leadership development programmes and recruitment processes were praised as some of the best in the UK.
Marlies Rogait, Member of the Board for Human Resources, said: "We have a strong team all the way through our business. Everyone at Bentley, from our craftspeople in our factory, to our executive team in the boardroom is incredibly passionate about what they do. That's why it is so important to ensure we help all of our colleagues be as good as they can be, with every opportunity to develop their skills."
"This award is consistent recognition that we are on the right track to making Bentley as a company, our products, our networks, and our people, even greater."
The annual recognition, undertaken by the Top Employers Institute, highlights leading employers in the UK that provide excellent employee conditions, nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation, and which strive to constantly enhance employment practices.
Bentley has created 1,500 UK jobs in the past two years, reinforcing the company's commitment to UK manufacturing.
Strengthening the company's focus on development, Bentley recently implemented an upskilling programme. The programme broadens and enhances the skills of Bentley colleagues, focusing on core competencies within the business. Tools include the introduction of training islands, learning from master trainers, and adopting a dual education approach for trainees.
Last year was Bentley's largest ever intake of trainees, including apprentices, graduates and industrial placements across all business areas. Industrial placement positions are currently available, with apprentice and graduate vacancies opening later this year.
Looking further ahead, to support the company's future investment in its employees and the community, Bentley is playing a pivotal role in bringing a University Technical College to Crewe. Focused on Engineering and Design, the school will offer an inspiring education for 14-18 year olds seeking a pathway to future employment.
