SEAT receives Top Employer certificate for second consecutive year
OREANDA-NEWS. SEAT has again been recognised as one of the country's best companies to work for after receiving the Top Employer 2016 certificate. After being awarded the certificate last year, the company is still the only carmaker in Spain with this seal of excellence.
Following an in-depth research survey, the Top Employers Institute, a company that since 1991 has been globally certifying the best conditions that employers create for their people, concluded that SEAT offers an excellent working environment. The Institute underscored SEAT's innovative recruitment programmes for young talents as well as the varied development programmes created by the company.
According to Executive Vice-president for Human Resources Xavier Ros, "SEAT aspires to create an excellent environment which is conducive to personal and professional development. Receiving the Top Employer certificate for the second year in a row confirms that we are headed in the right direction and reaffirms our commitment to quality employment".
SEAT is constantly seeking young talent for the different divisions of the company. This is achieved by conducting a variety of recruitment initiatives that contribute to generating employment, from traineeship programmes, doctoral students and special programmes for young engineers, to dual vocational training. One of the standout programmes is Start-up Europe, which gave nearly 20 young people the opportunity to gain access to their first working experience at SEAT, followed by a temporary international placement period in the different brands of the Volkswagen Group. In the last year, more than 900 young talents joined SEAT through one of many programmes offered by the company.
To foster the employees development, the company features a broad range of training programmes, of which the Top Employers Institute highlighted extensive technical training, leadership and language skills. In addition, SEAT also encourages other initiatives such as international experience and personalised career development programmes. The company invests 14 million euros annually on average in training.
Being an excellent employer also involves several other undertakings, such as engaging the workforce in the company's CSR policy through solidarity actions or the launch of the innovative mundoSEAT app, an ad hoc application created so that SEAT employees, as well as fans of the brand, can keep up with the latest information on the company from their mobiles. In addition, a very special Family Day was organised in 2015, an open house event at the Martorell facilities where SEAT workers had the opportunity to invite their friends and family members to tour their workplace. During the event, which was highly praised by the Top Employers Institute, several leisure activities were organised to give all participants a better understanding of the brand and the Martorell factory. With this initiative, the company reaffirmed its commitment to its workers and their families.
