OREANDA-NEWS. On the basis of the results of the preliminary examination of Power Unit 3 of E.ON Russia Beryozovskaya GRES a preliminary conclusion can be made on the necessity for complex repair works.

The majority of the fire damage was caused to the boiler metal construction, and based on current information at least a significant part of the boiler has to be replaced. In that regard the Power Unit is most likely to remain inoperable at least this year, which will probably mean that the company might lose a substantial part of the payments for the capacity of Power Unit 3 of Beryozovskaya GRES in 2016 from the moment of the emergency shutdown. The Capacity Delivery Agreement doesn't provide for additional penalties.

Due to the fact that the Company is insured against construction risks, fire risks, natural disasters, and machinery failures the representatives of insurance companies have begun the analysis of the circumstances of the accident for the purpose of insured event qualification and determination of responsibility limits.

The precise cost of repairs may be evaluated only after the full-scale examination will be finished.
