As part of its Venture activities, BearingPoint has invested in Bochum-based start-up tracekey solutions GmbH. tracekey develops and operates industry-specific Track&Trace solutions and provides support in meeting the challenges of increased digitalization, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. tracekey and BearingPoint have been working together on a project basis since the end of 2014. Both companies are expanding their consulting and services portfolios, and the investment by BearingPoint establishes a long-term partnership.

Increasing digitalization and regulation represent immense challenges for a large number of companies, especially in the pharmaceutical industry. Regulatory requirements for the protection against counterfeit medicines have led, for example, to implementing serialization technologies, and such regulations necessitate a holistic approach to process strategies. BearingPoint and tracekey enable customers to best meet the challenges of digital transformation. tracekey focuses on the development of software solutions, while BearingPoint has expertise in process development and many years of industry expertise in its Life Sciences & Chemicals unit.
