OREANDA-NEWS. February 08, 2016. Fujitsu today announced that it has received a Gold Class rating in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Awards 2016, published by RobecoSAM, a global socially responsible investment (SRI)(1) ratings company.

The RobecoSAM Sustainability Awards are awarded to companies on the basis of an evaluation of approximately 3,000 large global companies, which are evaluated on the sustainability of the company in three areas, economic, environmental and social issues. Particularly excellent companies are sorted into three classes, gold, silver and bronze. In the 2016 ratings, 77 companies (of which 7 were Japanese), including Fujitsu, were chosen as Gold Class.

Fujitsu was chosen as Silver Class in 2010 and as Bronze Class from 2012 through last year. For the most recent ratings, Fujitsu received the maximum score in 8 metrics, including risk management, environmental management, and HR development, out of the 21 evaluation metrics for its industry category, IT Services & Internet Software and Services. For this reason it was chosen for Gold Class, the highest evaluation, for the first time.

Fujitsu will continue to promote corporate activities from an environmental, societal and governance (ESG) standpoint, and as a truly global ICT company, contribute to the sustainable development of the world and society.
