OREANDA-NEWS. Kaliningrad plant "Avtotor" started the production of fourth-generation business-class sedans KIA Optima. The car is available in several trim levels, including two "sports" versions - GT and GT-line. The sales start of the new KIA Optima in Russia is scheduled for March of this year.

As the press service of "Avtotor" informed, it is installed three different models of gasoline engines on the new KIA Optima. 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, which is producing 150 hp and the 188-hp 2.4-liter engine with direct injection GDI were modernized. For the first time for the KIA Optima it is offered just two levels of "sports" versions - GT-Line and GT. GT-Line version differs from other complete sets by design decisions in the exterior and interior, and it is provided the most powerful engine 2,0 T-GDI (245 hp) with turbo charging and direct fuel injection for the GT version.

Business sedan can be equipped with rear-view camera with display image system and Around View Monitor. The options list also includes blind spot monitoring system (BSD), help system at the exit from the parking reversing (RCTA), upgraded intelligent system of automatic parking, intelligent system of boot opening, the wireless charging of phone and a number of other modern high-tech solutions. For the new KIA Optima it is offered multimedia system with 7'' and 8'' display and a navigation system with SD-card, the updating of information about traffic and weather conditions in real time, by showing the location of speed domes. Free map update is provided for 7 years from the date of purchase of a new car.

In Russia by the results of 2015 sedan KIA Optima, despite the overall market decline, showed a positive trend of sales due to special offers and rational pricing of KIA Motors Rus. Sales of KIA Optima in Russia grew by 8% in the last year and they reached 3096 units. Totally since 2012, when the business-sedan KIA Optima entered the Russian market, it was sold 14199 cars, which allowed the model to be consistently in the top-five of the most sought-after products in the line KIA.

At the Kaliningrad plant car KIA Optima of the previous third generation was produced from November 2012 to December 2015. During this period, it was assembled 9419 such vehicles.
