U.S. Lincoln Sales Up 8 Percent, Best Start to Year Since 2008
“We are really pleased with the continued momentum at Lincoln,” said U.S. Sales Analyst Erich Merkle.“Even at the end of last year Lincoln posted sales gains, while the overall luxury segment softened.”
“The same rotation toward SUVs that we are seeing in the non-luxury segment of the industry is also occurring swiftly in the luxury segment,” he said.
Lincoln SUVs had their best start since 2001.
“Luxury SUVs are hot and the MKX is a stunning vehicle coming into the mid-size luxury SUV segment at just the right time. Not only were sales of the MKX up 51 percent in January but average transaction prices increased by \\$4,500,” said Merkle. “The growth that we are seeing at Lincoln is steady and sustainable, as we look forward to the new MKZ in a few months and the all-new Continental later this year.” ??
