OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2016. FBK has finally delivered an expert opinion on the project of integrated development of the Verkhne-Munskoye orefield for PJSC ALROSA. The draft project for the development of the deposit was eventually approved by the Government commission chaired by the Vice Prime Minister Yury Trutnev following a successful closure of the advisory engagement.

The draft document was developed through concerted efforts of the specialists of the Management Advisory Practice and the Investment and Construction Pratice at FBK. The company’s experts conducted a technological and a price audit of a business plan for the integrated development of the deposit.

According to Valeria Polykova, Head of Advisory Practice, FBK Vice President, the implementation of a largest project in East Siberia is about to start in the nearest future. She said, “A decision was made to allocate nearly 8.5 bln roubles out of the budget for the construction of an all-season motor road from the deposit to the mining plant. The rest of the funds, over 63 bln roubles, is expected to be sourced by ALROSA.”

The Verkhne-Munskoye diamond deposit was discovered back in 2007. It consists of four kimberlite pipes with proven ore reserves over 64 mln tonnes. Mining operations will start in 2018. Ore enrichment activities are planned to be carried out at the Udanchny MPD with ore to be transported from the deposit to the enriching works by road.
