OREANDA-NEWS. According to the agency “Auto-Dealer-SPb", in 2015 the St. Petersburg car manufacturers Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and GM launched 307,700 passenger cars, which is less by 15% than in 2014. Hyundai's share of the total production of cars in St. Petersburg was 75% (in 2014 - 69%), Nissan and Toyota have 11% each.

The only car plant, which has managed to increase the volume of production, became Nissan. At the end of 2015 the company produced more than 33.6 thousand cars, which is more by 7% than the previous year, reported previously "AUTOSTAT". The increase in production became possible through the launch of best-selling Nissan X-Trail and Nissan Qashqai.

St. Petersburg Hyundai plant at the end of 2015 produced 229,500 cars, which is less by 3.2% than a year ago. Therewith, the production of Hyundai Solaris was 129,400 cars (-2,2%), KIA Rio - 100,1 thousand units (-4.4%). It is worth noting that the last year the company started the production of the updated model of Rio.

Toyota plant assembly line at the end of 2015 produced 32,882 Toyota Camry cars – it is less by 10.2% than a year before. "Against the background of a general decline of car production in Russia by 28% the result of the automotive cluster in St. Petersburg can be considered as successful”, – says the CEO of “Auto-Dealer-SPb”, Michail Chaplygin. – “The flagship models of each of the three plants felt in the car market of the country much better than most of their competitors. So, Hyundai Solaris, and KIA Rio showed sales growth at the end of 2015, and, for example, Nissan X-Trail crossover became the most popular in Moscow. "

In December, the best result of production of cars was shown per month at the end of the year. Three car plants (GM is conserved from July 1st) produced 30,200 cars, which is less only by 4% than in December of 2014. The positive result in December will permit to increase the share of the St. Petersburg automobile industry in the total production of cars in Russia. At the end of 2015 it was 25.6% (for 11 months - 23.1%, while in 2014 - 21.3%).

In December, the car plants of St. Petersburg produced 7 models of cars – it is Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio. At the end of 2015 four of them were in the top-20 of the most popular cars in Russia (Solaris, Rio, Camry and X-Trail).
