OREANDA-NEWS. Enterprises of Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) in the Republic of Khakassia keep the high rates of land rehabilitation. This is facilitated by the use of innovative remediation technologies developed through cooperation of "SUEK-Khakassia" with the Institute of Agrarian Problems of the Republic of Khakassia. The richest experience in the application of new dumping technology is implemented at "Chernogorskiy" open pit mine of "SUEK-Khakassia".

Here, for already 8 years the dumos are not aligned on the surface, but are formed in a certain sort of ridges with alternating buttes and cavities. As a result, the winds do not blow off the soil, the moisture is better retained and reclamation is more intense.

- Since the conditions for conducting reclamation are almost identical, it was decided to extend the experience of "Chernogorskiy" open pit mine to "Izyhsky" open pit mine - said the technical director of "SUEK-Khakassia" Vladimir Azev. - In 2014-2015 "Izyhsky" open pit mine returned to Altai Region municipality 70 hectares of restored land; at "Chernogorskiy" open pit the rate of remediation is even higher - over the same period 86 hectares of land were returned to the ecosystem.

In 2014-2015 as part of measures to improve land reclamation techniques on the "Izyhsky" open pit mine 2500 seedlings of pine trees were planted, at "Chernogorskiy" - 3000 seedlings of pine and 300 of cedar were planted.

In 2016-2017 "SUEK-Khakassia" plans to continue cooperation with the scientists on the theme of "Improving the technology of forest reclamation of technogenic disturbed coal mining lands in the arid climate of Khakassia."
