OREANDA-NEWS. February 03, 2016. Bugulma Mechanical Plant of PJSC TATNEFT has received the Certificate of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the”U“labeled ASME stamp.

The ceremony dedicated to the presentation of the Certificate and the U stamp was attended by the representatives of QualityProgramDesign Inc. in the person of President Charles L. Hallam. The President of the QualityProgramDesign, Inc. pointed out the high organization level of the work performance, professionalism and competence of the PJSC TATNEFT’s BMZ staff.

To obtain the Certificate and the ASME stamp the Bugulma Mechanical Plant had successfully passed all the stages of the certification for compliance with the ASME Code Regulations.  The certification process at the BMZ had taken several years in several stages, starting from provision of the latest version of the original ASME Code of Practice through to designing and manufacturing the demo product. The plant’s professionals studied the new requirements of the standard, produced a large number of documents in two languages, including the procedures for the basic production processes, detailed design and process flow documentation, demo product calculations, filling out specialized forms, which the personnel had never done before.

This certification, unlike the previous one, broadens the scope of activities and now the ASME Code system applies to designing and manufacturing of pressure vessels, both within the enterprise premises and the machines’ assembly at the assembly sites of the customer.

The issued ASME Certificate is valid for three years, during which the factory has the right to manufacture the pressure vessels in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Code of Practice, Section VIII Division 1.

The ASME certificate confirms the high quality and safety of the manufactured heat exchangers, capacitive equipment, as well as tanks and vessels, which will give the Bugulma Mechanical Plant the opportunity to position itself at the international market as a supplier of such equipment.

The activities of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers are aimed at improving the production efficiency and facilitating the international trade. Obtaining this certificate affords an opportunity of working in more than 100 countries of the world which governments have endorsed and adopted the ASME code requirements, including the United States, Canada and major European countries.
