OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2016.  Ford Motor Company recently earned the honor of being one of the Best Human Resources Management Companies in China for the fourth consecutive year, beating out hundreds of thousands of initially identified companies. The award is presented to the companies in China whose human resources practices have made a significant contribution to their corporate development.

The Best HRM Companies award, sponsored by 51JOB, a China-based talent sourcing and management agent, is considered the most prestigious event focused on the evaluation of human resource management in China today. After the initial screening, 211 candidate companies remained. Data collection and detailed analysis of these companies, combined with telephone, face-to-face interviews, and cross-company comparisons within each industry, led to Ford China becoming one of 100 winners in 2015.

Ford China also won a Best HR Team award, given to only 10 employers whose HR departments performed exceptionally well in 2015. In the world of human resources, this is one of the best public recognitions achievable in China.

“I believe that these awards are recognition of some of the key factors that differentiate Ford in the business community,” said Daryl Mahon, director of Recruiting, Learning and Organization Development, Ford Asia Pacific. “Be it our ongoing commitment to life-long employee development, high leadership quality or our continued effort towards creating and sustaining a corporate culture where employees feel engaged as part of a big Ford family.”

“We are continuing to implement plans to deliver even higher standards than we have previously accomplished and you will continue to see our people practices being delivered with a strong partnership with the business,” added Mahon. “I believe this sustained commitment is positively differentiating us in China’s employment market.”

The process of selection is one of the most comprehensive, in-depth and far-reaching awards in the human resources field, and take into account the challenges associated with the rapidly evolving business environment in China.

Carol He, vice president, Human Resources, Ford Greater China, said “2015 was a year of many new employee engagement initiatives in China and I am very pleased to see this award being given to Ford for a fourth consecutive year.”

“It reinforces that we are not only a good company but also a great company that is consistently demonstrating our commitment to our employees and to our communities,” said He. “These prestigious awards are a wonderful recognition for our ongoing efforts and commitment to the world class people practices that makes Ford a great place to work in China”.

Daryl Mahon, Carol He, and Dhananjay Nair, director, HR HRBO, and Jacqueline Huang, manager, HR HRBO, attended the awarding ceremony on behalf of Ford and received the awards.

Ford’s employee training practices, talent recruitment and retention, corporate social responsibilities and many other aspects in HRM greatly support the company’s leading position in the market. In the future, these practices will prove to influence other companies to understand and value the strategic aspects of HRM, and can help develop new ideas and innovation in the field.
