OREANDA-NEWS. St. Petersburg Hyundai plant completes the work on new equipment capacity. For commissioning of production equipment in the shops of welding and assembly for the launch of the new crossover Hyundai Creta it was stopped the conveyor on January 11th to 21st.

According to «Club Creta in Russia", January factory plans are implemented fully and in future the testing process of new facilities. According to preliminary data, the level of localization of production of Hyundai Creta should reach 30%, and in 2017 it will reach 50%. For comparison, now the level of localization of production of Hyundai Solaris is 47%.

Stamping, welding, painting, assembly - everything is automated; the automation level stands at 80%. Main body parts of Hyundai Creta are planned to be stamped directly in the company Hyundai. But some elements of the body and parts of the superstructure in order to save money will be delivered from the factory of the company Magna, which is also near St. Petersburg.

As well as Hyundai Solaris, new crossovers Creta will be exported to other markets: in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Ukraine.

As previously reported "AUTOSTAT", Hyundai has high expectations with the launch of new crossover Creta due to the strong growth of segment SUV-B in the Russian market. The novelty will be produced with engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters with front- and four-wheel drive.
