OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2016. In Buenos Aires (Argentina) held the Nuclear Industry Summit Latin America 2016. The event was held for the first time and brought together  the heads of leading companies and institutions of the nuclear industry in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile and other countries in the region.

The company Rosatom Latin America acted as a partner of the Summit, where presented cutting-edge nuclear technologies and solutions for both energy and non-energy projects. Dmitry Bazhenov pointed that Russian-designed NPPs which have been constructed or are being under construction are fully complying with post-Fukushima safety standards. Security systems of the blocks of the modern Russian nuclear power plants are based on a combination of passive and active safety systems to provide an unprecedented level of protection. The VVER nuclear reactor technology offered today by ROSATOM is also one of the most referenced in the world, with 56 units operating successfully all over the world, including 38 in 11 countries outside Russia.
