OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2016. Russian distributor of KIA on March 1, 2016 will start sales of a new, fourth-generation of business-class sedan KIA Optima. Information on pricing and trim levels will be provided closer to the date of start of sales, informed the press service of KIA Motors Rus.

Overall dimensions increased in all dimensions, the wheelbase grew by 10 mm and reached 2805 mm, overall width – by 25 mm (to 1860 mm). The car will be offered with three different gasoline engines. 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine producing 150 hp and the 188-hp 2.4-liter engine with direct injection GDI were modernized. For the first time for the KIA Optima it is offered just two levels of "sports" version - GT-Line and GT. GT-Line version differs from other complete sets by its design decisions in the exterior and interior, and for the GT version it is provided the most powerful engine in the line 2,0 T-GDI (245 hp) with turbo charging and direct fuel injection.

The new generation of KIA Optima continues the tradition of the brand to offer clients a wide range of options of comfort and high-tech features, typical for cars of higher segments. Business sedan can be equipped not only with rear-view camera display image, but also the system of Around View Monitor. The list of options includes blind spot monitoring system (BSD), help system at the exit from the parking reversing (RCTA), upgraded intelligent system of automatic parking, intelligent system of trunk opening, charging the wireless phone and a number of other modern high-tech solutions.

In Russia in 2015 sedan KIA Optima, despite the overall market decline, showed a positive trend of sales due to special offers and rational pricing of KIA Motors Rus. Sales of KIA Optima in Russia increased by 8% in the last year and they reached 3096 units. Totally since 2012, when the business sedan KIA Optima entered the Russian market, it was sold 14199 cars, which allowed the model to be consistently in the top five of the most sought-after products in the line KIA.
