BMW intends to strengthen its position in the premium segment
OREANDA-NEWS. January 29, 2016. The Russian branch of the German concern BMW held the balance sheet conference on the results of 2015 and plans for 2016.
Sales of BMW cars in Russia were 27.5 thousand units in the last year, which is less by 23% than in 2014. This is much better than the whole market (-36%) and it corresponds to the fall in the premium segment. The same dynamics is typical for the brand MINI (-23% to 1350 units) and for motorcycles BMW.
The most popular model in the model range of BMW cars in the last year was the X5 crossover with the result of 6 thousand cars, in the second place - X3 (4.7 thousand units). As for 2016, the company has great hopes on the new BMW 7 Series. Thus the "Bavarians" intends to strengthen their positions in the segment of "premium".
