Violin Memory's Flash Storage Platform Names as Finalist for 2015
OREANDA-NEWS. Violin Memory, a global pioneer of award-winning all-flash storage platform solutions for primary storage and active workloads, has been named a finalist for TechTarget's Storage Magazine/SearchStorage.com 2015 Products of the Year Award in the category of all-flash storage systems. The company was recognized for Violin's Flash Storage Platform(tm) (FSP) offerings, including the FSP 7300 and FSP 7700.
The FSP all-flash array solutions offer enterprise data services including all redundant components that are non-disruptively upgradeable, asynchronous replication with space-efficient snapshots, synchronous replication, and stretch clusters for failover between active-active metro sites.
Magazine/SearchStorage.com 2015 Product of the Year competition were required to offer storage platforms that could only be purchased with all-flash storage and no hard disk drives. Eligible products included FC and iSCSI, NAS, multi-protocol systems, converged/hyperconverged infrastructure, DAS, solid-state storage drives, disk controllers, caching appliances, storage virtualization appliances and cloud integrated storage.
The Violin FSP 7300 and FSP 7700 powered by Concerto(tm) OS 7 deliver a rich suite of enterprise data services, including business continuity, data protection, data scalability, and data efficiency. Violin's Flash Storage Platform enhances system performance and drives efficiencies elsewhere in the data center, including server utilization where there is no I/O wait time, to effectively transform the data center to deliver the performance and capabilities demanded by enterprise primary storage environments.
The Violin FSP stands out as the only all-flash array for primary storage with robust data services from a single vendor in a single OS, that provides an easy installation process while avoiding compatibility issues caused by deploying disparate products for similar features.
The FSP easily integrates into existing data centers and fully supports common workloads such as Oracle, SQL Server, and SAP in both physical and virtual environments. Management includes an easy-to-use GUI interface that allows the provisioning of storage and administration of data services across hundreds of Violin arrays.
