SOCAR officials visit Iran

OREANDA-NEWS. On January 24, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev was on a visit to Iran and met with Chairman of the National Oil Company of Iran Roknodin Javadi. The officials discussed the prospects of cooperation in the spheres of interest of both sides and noted that lifting sanctions against Iran paved the way for the prospects of wide cooperation in various spheres, as well as energy cooperation, which will give impetus to the development of economic relations between the two countries. They also focused SOCAR’s interest in both onshore and offshore energy projects in Iran, the prospects of cooperation with local and international energy companies and welcomed the idea of drawing out roadmap of cooperation. The Iranian side showed keen interest in SOCAR’s proposals. The officials pointed out that the cooperation could cover oil production, oil and oil products trade, joint research and other spheres.
