Kazakhstan financial market leader, JSC Halyk Bank, is organizing the first Hackathon (derived from two English words - hack and marathon - hacking marathon, which aims to go from concept to prototype for a limited period) in the banking category - HalykFintech, to improve customer service.

Hackathon format is now getting increasingly popular in the corporate sector throughout the world. Hackathon is used to be conducted by retailers to airlines and, along with computer people, designers, marketing experts, and representatives of other business directions can participate therein. To give an example, a Facebook ‘Like’ button has appeared from social network Hackathon.

HalykFintech will be held on 13-14 February this year in Almaty at the International University of Information Technologies (IUIT). The very name of the Hackathon involves the development of new banking products using information and communication technologies.

All people, who are ready to offer their solutions, can participate in the Hackathon in three key areas:

  1. Service centers;
  2. Communication channels;
  3. New opportunities.
