OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2016. From now on the groups of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection are checking the quality of petroleum products at filling stations in Kyiv and Kyiv region. Throughout two weeks petroleum products will be analysed throughout Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk said at a meeting on price forming in the oil market and the quality of petroleum products.

The Head of Government stressed that the State Fiscal Service had confiscated the documents, which contain "a formula of composition of gasoline". Arseniy Yatsenyuk demonstrated the formula according to which mixed petrol is illegally produced and explained its key components. He told: "They dilute it directly at the tank farm facilities. Only 45% of pure A-95 petrol is contained in A-95. A-92 gasoline contains only 39% of pure petrol, and the remaining mixture includes additional chemical elements".

"As a consequence, vehicles break down, repair costs a fortune, expenditures for fuel are unjustified", he added.

"Another part of a problem in our oil market is the shadow market", stressed Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to the leadership of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection to urgently send a team of employees for sampling of petroleum products at major gas stations.

The Head of Government informed that in Kyiv and Kyiv region the take-off of petroleum products would be held today, and within two weeks - across the country.

"Having the test results we will inform, where the petrol was taken, what quality it has and what measures will be taken against those who breach the law", emphasized the Head of Government.

Participating in the meeting were Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yulia Kovaliv, Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Yurii Terentiev, Chairman of SFS Roman Nasirov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa.
