OREANDA-NEWS.  According to the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", the largest share of the Russian market fall on vehicles of European brands - 26.6%. At the end of 2015 there were sold 407.8 thousand units (including LCV), which is less by 40.6% than a year ago.

In the second place there are the Korean brand cars, the share of which was 22.8%, which in quantity terms corresponds to 350.3 thousand units. Therewith, the "Koreans" show the minimal drop in sales (-20%) in Russia. The third position in the ranking is occupied by Japanese car brand (328.7 thousand units; -40.6%), with a share of 21.4%. Slightly less this figure among vehicles of domestic brands - 20.7%. They were sold in the amount of 317.8 thousand units (-27.3%). The share of US brands was 6% (91.6 thousand units), Chinese - 2.5% (38.7 thousand units). The "Americans" and "Chinese" fell most strongly in the Russian market (50%).

If we compare with 2010, then in the market the leaders were Russian brand cars, whose share exceeded 30%. The domestic brands over the last five years, have lost more than the others - 10 percentage points. The share of "Americans" was decreased twice (from 12% to 6%), and the "Chinese" remained at the same level (2 - 3%). But the share was increased (by about 5 p.) by European and Japanese brands, which in 2010 was 21.5% and 16.8%, respectively. But best of all it was able by "Koreans", the share of which increased by more than 7 pp - from 15.5% in 2010.

As the director of the analytic agency "AUTOSTAT", Sergei Tselikov, noted, the main secret of success of "Koreans" is associated with their pricing. In addition, they have a fairly wide range and good quality. Therefore, in 2016, Korean brands can win another 3 - 5% of the market if they continue to keep prices low.
